2006:09:12:16:24 - Fixes - PhillipThere was some IE glitches that caused the left hand navigation menu to not display correctly. Apologies to those of you whom found the page utterly confusing as a result. It should now be fixed.
2006:09:11:23:56 - Updates - PhillipI don't have a section for them yet, but here are a couple of standard banners that can be used for now for those wishing to link to WebComicer.

2006:09:11:17:41 - Updates - PhillipWebcomicer is now in the 'In Progress' stage, rather than the 'Coming Soon' stage. Gamers may now freely visit it like they would the other games.
Webcomicer introduces some advancements over the other games. A slightly smoother interface, and some technical stuff mostly geared towards promoting the contributing Artists. Yes, that's right. We have real Webcomicer Creators contributing art to WebComicer. You can find a list of the contributors in several places. The navigation menu to the left for example displays small banners that link to their websites. We have a rather awesome selection started. I'm a tad giddy in case you can't tell.
Anyhow, feel free to visit the game, give it try, and see what you think. I highly encourage reading the instructions first as there are some new rules that have been introduced which may seem confusing even to veteran gamers of these games.
In addition, a few new cards have been added to Hemovore. Many thanks to Ed and James for the photos.
2006:08:28:22:26 - News - PhillipMost the work these last two weeks has been devoted solely to WebComicer. It will hopefully be seeing a public release in a few weeks once I have more definite OKs from the contributing artists that it is ok to use the art from their strips.
In other news, I've attempted to configer the overall site design to make it more cohesive, and I have begun adding navigation menus to various pages to help traverse the site.
Additionally, there are two updated cards in Hemovore that now have artwork thanks to the lovely Alison!
2006:08:12:15:46 - News - PhillipProgress on the new site design has been made. Eventually, all the games under this index page will share a cohesive structure, albeit with their own identity.
2006:08:11:01:23 - News - PhillipBegun work on the Webcomicer Game. At this point it's just preparational layout stuff. Getting the player's page to look right and to take into account the changes I'll be making to the base model.
2006:08:08:10:09 - Updates - PhillipLast night I uploaded new cards and updated libraries to the Hemovore section. At the moment, people can browse the new cards I'm adding to the game by visiting the Library Page in the Hemovore section. I'm currently working on fixing a fault in the game where gameplay slows down after 50 turns. I believe it has to do with the length of the log that is generated to the left of the playing field. I think I can improve it so that it doesn't start to slow down until after 100 turns without too much difficulty. I will certainly have to look into a more effective solution for WebComicer.
2006:08:06:05:33 - News - PhillipClanwar has been moved such that it is now properly located here on this section of Atraluna.
Hemovore is coming along nicely. I'm at the point where I basically need to make a lot more cards in order to get the game to a state that can be safely considered "Completed". The bad news is I don't have anywhere near the amount of photos needed to do so at the moment. The good news is that I think the new game has some pretty nifty improvements over the old game,
Including:
~Being able to name your character
~Receiving a score at the end of the game based upon turns taken and ending stats
~Opponents whom will (once I make other opponents) have their own seperate libraries from the one the player uses. This means that in addition to having different starting stats and AI, the opponent will actually have a "Skill Set" of sorts to better define their playstyle.
~More variety of Effects, including the ability to burn blood to use supernatural powers instead of always having to use the generated Influence.
~Long term plans include a "Ladder" style of play, where beating one Opponent results in having to immediately square off against another one until you've managed to climb your way to the top.
Things are kinda getting an overhaul at the moment, and once they settle down I will hopefully by then have Hemovore completed, and the THIRD card game will be underway.
What did you say Phillip?
*looks around*
Did you say a "Third" Card Game?
*nods*
As in, another card game in addition to ClanWar AND Hemovore?
*nods again*
But you'd have to be insane to make another one!
*nods Furiously*
Well what is it!?
It shall be a card game in honor of webcomics and their slaves, er, I mean creators. I'm calling it WebComicer, and it's a game where you get to play a Webcomic Creator in a friendly(mostly) race against your chosen WebComic Rival. First person to 10,000 readers wins. Well, at least that's the premise so far. Being a webcomic artist I am looking forward to this game, but I am even more looking forward to having other webcomic artists participate in it's creation. However, aside from a little bit of early prodding on my part to see if any webcomicers out there are interested, I am saving most of my actual recruitment ambitions until Hemovore and the website are finalized enough to give potential targets, er, Potential-Donating-Webcomicers a good impression of what the game will be.
That's all for now. Remember, if you're interested in donating images to help expediate Hemovore's creation, you can send them to me at masterxodin at yahoo dot com.
